This year isn’t just about resolutions or to-do lists; it’s about creating a life that excites you, challenges you, and leaves you feeling fulfilled. Whether you’re chasing career milestones, leveling up personally, or staying inspired by the celebrity buzz, 2025 is your year to shine.

Dream Bigger: Personal Goals for 2025

This year, it’s time to stop playing small. What’s on your list? Launching a passion project? Running your first marathon? Or maybe it’s as simple as starting a morning routine that doesn’t involve hitting snooze five times. Whatever it is, make it bold—and actionable.

The secret to success in 2025? Focus on the process, not just the outcome. Break your goals into small wins, and don’t be afraid to celebrate them. Download that language app, finally try hot yoga, or book that solo trip you’ve been daydreaming about. Each step forward counts.

And let’s not forget mental wellness. This year, the focus is on protecting your peace. Meditation, journaling, therapy—whatever keeps you grounded should be a top priority. Because a calm, focused mind can tackle anything.

Professionally, 2025 is calling you to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it’s gunning for that promotion, switching careers, or starting your own business, this is your time to take risks. The job market is buzzing with opportunities in fields like tech, healthcare, and green energy, so why not take advantage?

On the financial side, the mantra for this year is build, don’t burn. Automate savings, invest in assets that grow, and create a budget that doesn’t feel like punishment. And yes, leave room for the good stuff—because treating yourself is just as important as saving for the future.

If you’re side hustle-curious, this is the year to dive in. From freelancing to e-commerce, there’s no shortage of ways to turn your talents into income.

When it comes to inspiration, Hollywood isn’t taking a backseat. This year, Beyoncé is reportedly expanding her empire with new creative projects, while Taylor Swift continues her world tour with a spotlight on giving back. Stars like Zendaya and Michael B. Jordan are proving that mental health and boundaries are just as important as their next big roles.

Even celebrities are getting personal with their goals. Selena Gomez has opened up about prioritizing her health and happiness, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has hinted at scaling back to focus on family. If they can make big life pivots, why can’t we?

Here’s the thing about 2025—it’s not just another year. It’s your year. So go all in. Reconnect with your dreams, chase them relentlessly, and don’t let fear keep you stuck.

This year is about becoming the version of yourself you’ve always envisioned. The one who shows up, takes risks, and stays unapologetically true to her goals.

So what are you waiting for? Make 2025 the year you look back on with pride. Let’s get to work.

New Year, New Bundles Of Joy https://hypehair.com/new-year-new-bundles-of-joy/ https://hypehair.com/new-year-new-bundles-of-joy/#respond Sat, 11 Jan 2025 03:15:02 +0000 https://hypehair.com/?p=7379 Written By: Ciara Celeste| Reporter

We are only a few days into 2025 and the announcements keep coming. Not only did we receive one pregnancy announcement, but two on the first day of 2025. Let’s dissect this!

After scrolling on social media, post of Hip Hop Artist Coi Leray continued to appear. The 27 year old New Jersey Native blessed our screens with a pregnancy announcement. Fans were shocked to hear the news, but even more shocked to see Leray reconcile with her former boyfriend, Music Artist Trippie Redd.

Redd and Leray have had an on and off again relationship for years, so to see them together again building a family was news we were not prepared for on the first day of the New Year. After continuing to scroll on social media, another pregnancy announcement popped up.

Hip Hop Artist and Reality TV Star Dream Doll shocked her audience with not only a pregnancy announcement, but a beautiful video that truly captured her Joy and excitement for motherhood. The difference with Dream Doll is that she did not include her child’s father like Leray did.

So fans began to speculate and become FBI detectives to discover who is the father of Dream Dolls child. Dream Doll has not disclosed who her child’s father is, and the viewers should respect her privacy, but when it comes to celebrities people tend to want to know every detail.

In the last few months more and more Young Black Stars have been announcing their debut into motherhood. Skai Jackson, who is a popular Black actress, mostly known for her role on Disney Channel Shows like “Jessie” and “Bunk’d.” Viewers had mixed feelings on Jackson’s pregnancy announcement. Jackson’s pregnancy was revealed through photographers following her and noticing her visible baby bump.

It was later revealed that Jackson’s Child’s father is a Content Creator by the name of “Yurkky Yurkky.” There was a lot of controversy surrounding this announcement due to the viewers not feeling like Yurkky Yurkky was on the same tier as Skai Jackson. Jackson is a beautiful Actress with a boatload of accomplishments, while Yurkky Yurkky has multiple children with different women and has been jailed previously. When the viewers discovered Yurkky’s past and saw a few disrespectful comments he made about Jackson and Jackson’s deceased friend Cameron Boyce, the sound of happiness for Jackson’s pregnancy turned into worrisome.

A child is a blessing no matter the circumstance. The viewers will always have an opinion. As long as the mother is content with her family and new bundle of joy, that should be the only thing that matters.

Shoniqua Shandai’s Journey to Feel My Love: A Night of Growth, Vulnerability, and Triumph https://hypehair.com/shoniqua-shandais-journey-to-feel-my-love-a-night-of-growth-vulnerability-and-triumph/ https://hypehair.com/shoniqua-shandais-journey-to-feel-my-love-a-night-of-growth-vulnerability-and-triumph/#respond Wed, 08 Jan 2025 17:21:12 +0000 https://hypehair.com/?p=7344 By: Rainy ” Country Cutie” Cates

It was one of those nights that felt like a quiet celebration—a gathering of people who believed in something more than just talent. We were seated around a table in an intimate Atlanta venue, the kind of place where the energy feels warm, like a shared secret between friends. The crowd wasn’t huge, but the air was electric with anticipation. Tonight wasn’t just about Shoniqua Shandai, the actress. Tonight, we were here for Shoniqua the artist, the singer—someone we were about to discover in an entirely new light.

As Shoniqua entered the space, there was an undeniable glow about her, but it wasn’t the kind of glow that comes from the spotlight. This was different. It was the kind of warmth that comes from someone who has truly embraced their journey—the kind of warmth that tells you, “I’ve struggled, I’ve grown, and I’m here now, unapologetically myself.” And that’s exactly what we were about to hear, from the very first note.

She opened up to the crowd, speaking in a way that felt like we were confiding in an old friend. There was no pretense. She was real, raw, and fully in the moment. “In 2020, during the pandemic, I decided to get into the studio,” she began, her voice soft but steady. “I was playing a recording artist in Harlem, but I was terrified of the studio. I can sing without a mic, but when it came to recording, it never sounded the way it did in my head.”

Her vulnerability struck a chord with everyone in the room. She wasn’t just talking about a song; she was talking about something deeper. She was sharing the journey of self-doubt, growth, and perseverance that led her to this very moment.

“You can’t play a recording artist and not actually get into the studio,” she continued. “So, I decided to do the work. I got intentional about what I wanted to create. And with everything happening in the world, I knew I had to write something that spoke to me—and to the world around me.”

What followed wasn’t just a performance—it was a story. It was a reflection of everything that had shaped Shoniqua over the last few years: the challenges, the growth, and the deep, undeniable belief that we all have the power to manifest the lives and love we deserve.

“I believe life and death lie in the power of the tongue,” she said. “So I wrote something that would bring into existence the kind of love I deserve, even though I hadn’t experienced it yet. Something God-fearing, passionate, and healthy. This song… it makes me want to tell a man, ‘Boy, I know your momma is proud of you!’ And that’s “Feel My Love.”

The song, four years in the making, was about so much more than melody or lyrics. It was the product of a journey filled with patience and growth. She’d started writing it in 2020, but it wasn’t until now, in 2025, that she was finally ready to release it to the world.

“I wasn’t the singer I wanted to be when I first started,” Shoniqua admitted. “I was comparing myself to legends like Aretha Franklin, and I wasn’t sure if I could ever measure up. But I kept pushing. I couldn’t let that stop me. So, I went through a cycle of home, train, and record. Home, train, record. For four years. And that’s how I became the singer who could finally sing this song.”

At that moment, I understood. This wasn’t just about singing, it was about the power of persistence. The power of not giving up, even when the path isn’t clear and the results don’t come easily. For four years, Shoniqua worked through her insecurities, her doubts, her fear. And the result was more than just a song, it was a declaration of strength and self-love.

As she played Feel My Love for us that night, the room fell silent. The music didn’t just fill the space, it resonated deep within everyone who was fortunate enough to be there. It was an anthem for anyone who has ever had to fight through their own limitations, for anyone who has ever doubted their worth, for anyone who has ever felt that the vision they had in their mind couldn’t possibly match up to reality.

But it can. It does.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others, especially in the world of social media, where the highlight reel is everything. But Shoniqua reminded us of something simple yet profound: Growth takes time. It’s okay to stumble, to feel uncomfortable, to take things slow. It’s okay to not have everything figured out right away. But as long as you keep pushing forward, trusting in yourself and your process, the results will come.

That night, I left with something more than just a new song to listen to. I left with a renewed sense of what it means to truly believe in yourself, to trust in the process, and to embrace every moment of growth along the way.

Shoniqua Shandai isn’t just a talented actress or a gifted singer—she’s a woman who has learned to love herself through the struggle and triumph, a woman who continues to teach us that the journey is just as beautiful as the destination.

And so, as the night ended, I realized that Feel My Love wasn’t just the title of her song—it was the energy that she had brought into the room. Love, in all its forms. And it was something we all felt, something that left a mark on every heart in that intimate space.

Today, tomorrow, and forever—Feel My Love.

Is Black Love Over?: The Downfall of Remy Ma and Papoose https://hypehair.com/is-black-love-over-the-downfall-of-remy-ma-and-papoose/ https://hypehair.com/is-black-love-over-the-downfall-of-remy-ma-and-papoose/#respond Sat, 21 Dec 2024 00:11:31 +0000 https://hypehair.com/?p=7215 Written by: Ciara Celeste| Reporter

How did we go from “Black Love” as a brand to Social Media exposing posts, cheating scandals
and alleged domestic violence? I’m just as confused as you all.

In 2008, New York Rappers Remy Ma and Papoose were engaged, and young in love. You may
know them both from VH1’s Hit Show “Love and Hip Hop,” where they put the focus on their
relationship, music and challenges Remy Ma had after her being released from Prison after
shooting her former friend.

Recovering from a six year jail sentence is not only tough in general, but it was tough on Remy
Ma and Papoose’s relationship. Love and Hiphop highlighted Remy Ma’s struggle with staying
away from a bad lifestyle that led her to her former prison sentence in the past, and how
Papoose wanted another child. On Love and Hip Hop, Papoose discussed the importance of
Black Love, and made it his brand. You can see him wearing the words Black Love on several
pieces of his clothing in videos.

Now in 2024, the tune sounds a little bit different. Earlier this week the public was woken up to
Remy Ma AND Papoose both making various Social Media posts about their relationship and
dating other people even though they are still legally married.
According to Entertainment Channel RRG, Remy Ma has been managing a Battle Rapper by
the name of East The Block Captain. Allegedly they have been having a romantic relationship,
while Remy Ma is still married to Papoose. Which is why on the social media platform

Instagram, Remy Ma says she is “ a one boyfriend woman, the same way I was a one husband
woman.”

Once the couple began to go back and forth on Social Media with various post, the conversation
began to become very heated. It was also stated that Papoose is currently dating Professional
Boxer Clarissa Shields. Shields involved herself in the Romantic War, by posting a video of her
rapping lyrics dissing Rapper Remy Ma.

All of this is very disheartening to see and hear, due to their brand being Black Love. In 2016
the couple did an interview with BET Networks as they discussed how they met and their
relationship. During this interview they both had smiles from ear to ear. They both sounded so
passionate about each other. Remy Ma said when she first met Papoose” he would never say a
derogatory word against women,” she continued to say “ he was already showing me he put
women on this pedestal and had high respect for women.”

Papoose and Remy Ma first met in the studio, while recording a song together titled “ Bonnie
and Clyde,” stated in the 2016 BET Networks interview. So hopefully only time will tell, that for
their family and the long history they have together that they can peacefully reconcile. Until then,
don’t let this situation sway you. Black Love is still alive and well.

Tokyo Stylez: Pushing the Art of Hair Beyond Imagination https://hypehair.com/tokyo-stylez-pushing-the-art-of-hair-beyond-imagination/ https://hypehair.com/tokyo-stylez-pushing-the-art-of-hair-beyond-imagination/#respond Mon, 16 Dec 2024 03:00:00 +0000 https://hypehair.com/?p=7202 When it comes to redefining boundaries in the beauty industry, few names resonate as powerfully as Tokyo Stylez. From crafting unforgettable Halloween looks for Beyoncé, including her stunning recreations of Lil’ Kim and Cardi B, to solidifying her place as a trendsetting force, Tokyo continues to elevate hair artistry to levels most can only dream of.

One of my most unforgettable moments was working with Beyoncé for Halloween. Those recreations weren’t just about the hair; they were about capturing the essence of Lil’ Kim and Cardi B in the ‘WAP’ and ‘Up’ videos,” Tokyo shares. “It’s all about merging references and crafting timeless moments that celebrate identity while pushing creative limits.

Tokyo’s journey to becoming one of the most revered hairstylists of our time is a story of resilience, rebellion, and relentless passion. Starting her career at the tender age of nine, Tokyo’s fascination with hair has always been fueled by her unyielding imagination. Now, decades later, she’s an OG in the game, inspiring legions of up-and-coming stylists and earning the flowers she worked tirelessly to cultivate.

I like to go over the top while still keeping the identity of each client,” she explains. “There’s a lot of reference pulling and mood boards involved to create signature looks. But, at the end of the day, the most timeless designs often become the most iconic.”

From Behind the Chair to Industry Icon

Over the years, Tokyo has transformed from a hairstylist behind the chair to a global icon of creativity and innovation. Reflecting on this evolution, she says, “It’s been a journey. Now, I’m getting the flowers and respect I’ve worked so hard for. To be regarded as one of the best in the game is humbling, but it’s also a challenge to keep elevating and producing art that breaks boundaries.

Hair as Art and Inspiration Everywhere

For Tokyo, hair isn’t just a profession; it’s a profound art form. “As an artist and creator, I find inspiration in the unexpected. A mangled water bottle, for instance, might inspire me with its structure and texture,” she reveals. “It’s about connecting the dots between everyday objects and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in beauty.

Her rebellious “rockstar” spirit infuses her work with daring creativity. Yet, she’s equally committed to staying grounded in her craft. “Hair and wigs are evolving every day. There are new techniques and trends emerging constantly. With the future of technology, I’m excited to see how far we can take things.”

On Staying Hungry and Breaking Rules

Tokyo’s advice to aspiring stylists is simple but powerful: “Never stop dreaming. If you can envision it, it’s possible. Don’t be afraid to take risks and break rules. People told me I couldn’t—so I had no choice but to show them I could. And always stay hungry, because someone else is out there putting in overtime to take your crown.

A Moment for Hype Hair and Representation

Appearing on the December 2024 cover of Hype Hair Magazine is a full-circle moment for Tokyo. “I’ve been a fan of Hype Hair since I started doing hair at nine years old. To be on the cover now is surreal,” she reflects. “It’s a moment that will be remembered forever and a testament to hairstylists deserving recognition beyond the chair.”

Tokyo’s admiration for Hype Hair stems from its role as a beacon of representation. “Hype Hair is what African American hair is all about. It celebrates the beauty and diversity of women of color and the styles we wear. That’s exactly how I want my clients to feel: strong, Black, and beautiful.

Dream Clients and Timeless Beauty

When asked about dream clients, Tokyo’s response reveals her deep appreciation for timeless beauty. “Aaliyah would definitely be one. Her soft, timeless beauty balanced with edgy fashion was perfect. I would have loved to see her in a bold bob or pixie that highlighted her face and complemented her style.

The Future of Hair

As Tokyo looks to the future, her curiosity and drive remain undiminished. “With technology advancing, I’m excited to see how hair will evolve. Every day brings new trends and techniques, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

In her own words, Tokyo Stylez is more than a hairstylist; she’s an artist, innovator, and storyteller. From creating iconic looks for some of the world’s biggest stars to inspiring the next generation of beauty professionals, Tokyo continues to prove that the art of hair knows no bounds. And as she graces the cover of Hype Hair, she reminds us all to dream big, take risks, and never stop creating.
